Dear 1st Grade Families,

In our classroom I want students to be able to learn and grow in a safe, caring, and positive environment. I want all of my students to be able to learn from and take accountability for their words and actions. To encourage the self-growth of all students, each student will have a punch card on which he/she can earn one punch per day for good behavior. Once they have earned 10 punches, students can choose from a pencil, eraser, or sticker. Sometimes, there may be other prizes available such as show & tell, candy, or bring a stuffed animal to school.

I will not be sending home weekly behavior charts. If I find that your student will need an individual behavior plan, I will contact you.

The following bullet points are the rules that everyone is expected to follow in our classroom. I call them "Parker's 5 P's"

  • Speak positively about yourself and others

I will be discussing these items with the class on the first day of school. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to go over them with your student again.
