It’s the last week of school for 2020! I am so thrilled that we (knock on wood) have been able to stay in school. Thank you for being extra cautious when your child isn’t feeling good. Let’s hope that in 2021 we continue staying well and can move on from this virus. We have lots of fun activities going on this week. There will be no spelling or reading story this week! We also will not have any homework coming home. Each day we will be focusing on a theme. Our learning will be based on that theme. Below is a snapshot of what we are planning. Monday: The Holy Family Tuesday: Angels Wednesday: Snowmen Thursday: The Polar Express Friday: Christmas Party Thursday First Graders may wear pajamas to school with sneakers. Friday we will have a pizza party. I am looking for someone who can bring in drinks for 24 kids that day. Also if you would like to send in a small treat for the party please let me know. Friday is also early dismissal at 11:30. Don’t forget to send in small trinkets to put in the students stockings. This can be brought in anytime throughout the week.
We will be having a Christmas party in our classroom on December 18. I will send out more information later this week about the party. I sent home a letter explaining about our gift exchange. It is also posted below. Have your child bring in a very small gift to put in the classmates' stockings. The stockings are hanging in the classroom now and they may bring their gifts in any time up until December 18. Starting Tuesday, December 8th, we will be attending the 8:15 mass. You are more than welcome to join us. If you would like your child to sit with you they may you just cannot sit where we are sitting. We are looking forward to returning to church.
For our gift exchange this year we will be providing a stocking for each child. Each student may bring in a small trinket for everyone in their class. They will put these trinkets in the stockings. They can be anything small such as pencils, candy, stickers, erasers, stamps, tattoos, etc. You do not need to spend a lot of money on this, go to the dollar store or dollar section in many stores to find these items. We have 25 students in our class.
