We will be working on letter recogntion for all the letters in thier name in small groups. Please work on Name recognition at home. We will be adding name tracing (free write) as a morining check in routine. The key is to get them famiiar and comfortable and more exposure to all the letters in thier name. We practice using 3 pt holding of thier writing tool.
Cutting: Any type of cutting you can let your kiddos experience at home is great! This is such an important skill. We work on it daily in class, it is kept very fun and is a CHOICE at this time. We will be adding beginning shape cutting skills, and continue to use all different types of materials, so they can really work on proper holding and positioning of hand and fingers!
Journals: We have been loving to work and draw in our Journals, many kiddos beg me to do journal station, Much of thier work and "assessment" info is kept in thier journal. This is where they do thier name tracing work, drawing self portraits, working on numbers and shapes.
Self-Portraits: we will be working on drawing different size circles and lines and proper placement on thier self portrait. We will continue to work on self portraits this month in November!
SELF CARE SKILLS:
please ensure your child is continuing to be self suffucient in the restroom. This includes proper handwashing (water, soap, scrub, rinse, dry). This also includes being able to pull clothing up and down (make sure shorts are not too tight). Please also work on putting on socks and shoes independantly, as we remove these at least twice a day for sand dumping!
