Saint Mary Catholic School Policies for Volunteers working with children and youth
The following requirements are in keeping with the policies of the Diocese of Pensacola Bishops’ Charter Requirements and the Charter for the Protection of Children, Young People.
Any person paid or volunteer who works with children and youth (Saint Mary Catholic School), in Saint Mary Parish, MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE THEY CAN START IN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED MINISTRY.
VECHS Background Check
Submit to a background check conducted for the Diocese by a Nationwide Criminal Search for all fifty states, including the Dept. of Corrections and the National Sex Offender Registry.
Fingerprints will be recorded using the VECHS system and placed in the data base. The processing fee is $65.00 for Volunteers and must be paid to Saint Mary Catholic School prior to receiving background code.
The background check will be valid for 5 years.

Waiver Form
VECHS Waiver Agreement and Statement form must be signed and returned to Anna Demkowicz in the school front office.
Safe Environment Training - Praesidium Academy (Volunteers)
1. Our new Safe Enviroment Training Program is called Armatus. The required courses for all
volunteers are:

Only if transporting students to or from events)
Complete document and return to Anna Demkowica in school front office along with copy of drives' lincence and copy of insurance.

NOTE: If you have had similar training elsewhere you are still REQUIRED to complete this Diocesan training.
ALL VOLUNTEERS ENTERING SAINT MARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL CAMPUS MUST CHECK IN WITH THE FRONT OFFICE. VOLUNTEERS AND VISITORS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ENTER SAINT MARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL CAMPUS THROUGH THE PARISH LIFE CENTER.
